  1. Hi Steve,
Hope all is going well with you and your research. Michal Wynohradnyk married Maria Dutczak. The marriage records for the Greek Catholic Church on microfilm end in August of 1899. They must have married right after this because they had a daughter named Eugenia who was born on July 2, 1900. Maria Dutczak was born in Sniatyn on Dec. 13, 1879, the daughter of Jan Dutczak and Barbara Mykietiuk. Michal and Maria had two other children that I know of: Jozef(b. Sep. 14, 1901) and Wladimir(b. 20 Jun 1903). Maria came to the United States in 1910 via Ellis Island. Her last name is spelled Wynohradnyke. Her contact in the US was a sister named Jozefa who was living in Boston. Her passenger record lists her as being married, but she lists her father as her nearest living relative in Sniatyn. Her daughter Eugenia arrived in Boston in 1914. Her name is spelled Genia Winohroduik on the passenger list. Maria was definitely a widow by 1926 because I came across a record of her second marriage. She married in Boston on Aug. 10, 1926 to a man named Alexander Schuka. He was 42yrs. old, born in Russia, and a widow. Eugenia Wynohradnyk married John Dutczak in Boston on Nov. 12, 1916. John was born in Sniatyn on July 19, 1887, the son of Grzegorz Dutczak and Katarzyna Hryhorczuk. Eugenia was only 16 at the time but gives her age as 18 on the record. I don’t know what became of John and Eugenia, but you may have cousins here that you don’t even know about!

  2. And even more…

Maria and my Grandfather traveled to the US together on the Pretoria. I’ve been trying to figure out who Maria was for a long time.
