William Knickerbocker 1801-1838

My Great Great Great Grandfather, William Knickerbocker was born 22 May 1801 and died 1 Mar 1838. You can see his birth and death date in the family bible pictures here. Here’s a shot of his gravestone taken in Smithville, New York. The inscription reads:

Friends nor Physicians could not save
This mortal body from the grave
Nor can the grave confine it there
When Christ commands it to appear

  1. Your sentence from your blog is also true for me…My Great Great Great Grandfather, William Knickerbocker was born 22 May 1801 and died 1 Mar 1838. I just happened to stumble across your page while searching for more family information. Thank you for all of the time you have devoted to this. I can’t wait to be able to read more and pass it on to my family.

      1. Thanks, Stephen! My siblings and I had been going through some old photos with my dad’s sister and it once again sparked my interest in finding out more about the Knickerbockers.

      2. Well, hopefully you’ve discovered that you are a Mayflower decendent, which is a fun thing! Also, make sure you take a look at knic.com which gives you a view of the wider Knickerbocker genealogy. ( also fun!) Things on my blog that I think are cool are: The William Knickerbocker/Prudence Beadle Family Bible pictures ( and I still have the whole Bible) and the Johannes Dyckman stuff ( another relation to us all)

Any cool stuff you come across, if you want to, please share. Always interested in this stuff.
