On Sunday I went to the Southern California Genealogy Society Jamboree 2008. It was at the Marriott in Burbank, CA. If you’ve not been to a genealogy conference, I’d highly recommend attending one. The two best reasons to go, from a genealogy standpoint, are that:
1) You learn things that you didn’t know before.
2) You remember things you had forgotten.
The thing that I had forgotten, was the BEST place to do genealogy searches. The absolute best is “One-Step Web Pages” by Stephen P. Morse. You can link to his site here. He just has the best searches around. No question about it. Having trouble searching Ellis Island or Castle Garden? Mr. Morse has the search to help. Having trouble searching Ancestry? Mr. Morse has a search to help. It’s just amazing what he’s done. I highly recommend checking out his site.
