This Fred David Vorhees does NOT go back to Abraham and Alice Voorhees. They did have a Fred R. born in 1867 also but Frederick David was my great grandmother's brother and he belongs to simon Peter Voorhees and Margaret Hageman. Simon Peter's father was John Simonson Voorhees and Phebe Tunison. Many people get the John Simonson Voorhees and the John Stryker Voorhees lines mixed up because they both came to Fairview, Illinois. they do all go back to Coert Van Voorhees however.

Very interesting material. Are there any other pages? In particular I am interested in anything that can tie William Knickerbocker, W.R.'s father, to the Soloman Knickerbocker Family in Conn. My primary interest is trying to identify the father of Alvin Knickerbocker who lived in the Smithville/Lisle area in the 1840's and 50's.

[...] Will the real William Knickerbocker, please stand up. By stwainer There are a lot of people doing research on the Knickerbocker family name. Us Knickerbocker relatives even have our own web site. One of the problems of having a relative ( or two) named William Knickerbocker was that around 1830 ish … Stephen Wainer’s Genealogy Weblog - http://stumbleback.wordpress.com [...]

[...] Sniatyn, Galacia By stwainer Both my Paternal Grandparents list their birthplace as: Sniatyn, Galicia which is now a part of Ukraine. My Grandmother goes further and lists her nationality as: Ruthenian. The history of Eastern Europe is quite confusing to me. … Stephen Wainer’s Genealogy Weblog - http://stumbleback.wordpress.com [...]
