I’ve found a few of the records for Simeon and Mathias’s children. I’ve been scanning the FHL film on Tuesday evenings after work and am up to Jan 1893 at this writing. I’ve missed a couple of those that you mentioned, so I’ll have to double back and find those records.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for mentioning me on your commendations list! I was digging through my research and thought I would offer up some info I had. As you have recorded above, Nicolaus’ brother Simeon was married to Anna Wiszniowski. She was born in Sniatyn on Aug. 10, 1867, the daughter of Lucasz Wuszniowski and Eudokia Mykietiuk. So far, I have come across the following children from this couple:
a. Catherine, b. May 13, 1885, d. Dec. 17, 1886
b. Demetri, b. Oct. 15, 1887
c. Gregori, b. Apr. 12, 1890

Nicolaus’ other brother Mathias was married to Rozalia Kotapski. Rozalia was born c1851, the daughter of Joseph Kotapski and Catherine Hubczynski. Their children that I know of are:
a. Michael, b. Aug 13, 1874
b. Maria, b. c1878, m. May 17 1896 to Joseph Gelles
c. Casimira, b. c1883, m. May 24 1903 to Martin
Laszkiewicz
d. Gregori, b. Jan. 23, 1888, d. Mar. 14, 1889
e. Veronica, b. Feb. 4, 1890, m. Jul. 27 1913 to
Valerian Laszkiewicz

Casimira and Veronica married brothers. Martin and Valerian Laszkiewicz were the sons of Michael Laszkiewicz and Angela Stankiewicz.

Hi Steve,

Michael Ostafijczuk was the son of Gregori Ostafijczuk and Josepha Kuczer. He was born on Nov. 11, 1865. Gregori Ostafijczuk was the son of Roman Ostafijczuk and Maria Zinkowski. Josepha Kuczer was the daughter of Basili Kuczer and Angela Sobolewski. Basili Kuczer was born c.1808 based on his age given when he married a second time to Anna Zazulak on June 15, 1873. I do not have a date of death for his first wife.

Michael Ostafijczuk’s wife Xenia Kamad was born on Feb. 27, 1870, the daughter of Demetri Kamad and Catharine Frondzej. Michael and Xenia were married in Sniatyn on Jan. 31, 1889. Demetri Kamad was the son of Nicolaus Kamad and Anastasia Kryklywec. Catharine Frondzej was the daughter of Elias Frondzej and Anna Burlak.

Anna Ostafijczuk had two other siblings that I know of: Demetri, b. MAy 10, 1890 and John, b. March 10, 1896.

Anna Ostafijczuk’s godparents were Theodor Stratijczuk and Anna, wife of Peter Branczko.

My Grandfather was born in Sniatyn in 1900. His name was Ivan Kiektyk.

I am also a decendant of William as well. This is very interesting. Maybe I could assist you with furthering the family tree and records. My father is Richard T Knickerbocker, and my Grandfather is Dick Knickerbocker. Donald Knickerbocker is my great uncle Marie Kraus is my great Aunt and Catherine Johnson (Knickerbocker) and Karen Buckingham(Knickerbocker) are my aunts

my father lived about 800 meters from the railway station in sniatyn,he left there and settled in wales just after the second world war,my auntie and cousine still live there.i have visited there a couple of time ,well worth a visit,beutiful country side.
