1944 – Edward Wainer joins the Army

On September 21, 1944 Edward W. Wainer (1926-2010) joins the service. Uncle Eddie ended up serving in Patton’s Third Army. Here are a few pictures:

My dad looks all of 12 years old in this picture but will, in fact,  join the army in 2 years (13 Nov 1946).

  1. thank you.havent seen those photos for several years.my father ended up in Berlin at the end of the war after beginning it toward the end of the battle of the bulge.slogged his way thru ardennes and into germany with germans shooting at him.then had to worry about trigger happy russians in divided berlin.
